PrivSim – Digital Privacy Simulator

PrivSim is a “murder mystery” approach to teaching digital privacy. It’s a sandbox game build on OSINT principles where you have to dig around to identify who stole the most precious I have: my ideas!

You stay in the sandbox to dig for clues, explore leads and try to triangulate your way to determination.

The game is still in open development, so expect changes to the experience.

In order to play, I have to tell you a little story first.. The story comes here:

THE LITTLE BLACK NOTEBOOK

My good ideas have been stolen. I have a small black notebook where I write down every idea that comes to me. In a normal week I can have lots of ideas, and to make room for new ones, I write them down in this little black notebook so my mind has space to keep thinking.

Every now and then, when I get time to dive into a new task or start a new project, I like to flip through the notebook and choose the best idea to work on. But the other day, when I was about to decide what project I should focus on over the summer, my notebook was gone!

My notebook looks like this:

I know that Hans Roselin has handled it before, and I couldn’t help noticing that he seemed a little too interested in it. Of course, that doesn’t mean he’s the one who took it. It could just as well be someone he knows.

He is part of a group that calls themselves The Renaissance Renegades. I don’t want to accuse anyone without proof… But I will say this: not everything they create is entirely original. Some of their work seems suspiciously similar to ideas I once wrote down in my notebook.

If you can figure out who took my little black notebook, I would be extremely grateful!
