Data Analytics

I teach a course on data analytics following de Mesquita & Fowler (2021)s approach to teaching quantiative reasoning which prioritizes developing students’ ability to think critically about evidence, causation, and uncertainty rather than mastering formal model validation procedures.

The course mixes programming (Python) with statistics and philosophy of science.

I’ve recently become rather obsessed with unplugged didactics and have developed a few different approaches to teaching data concepts in a “hands on” kind of way.

One example of this didactical approach is the Coin flipper I built to show The Law of Large Numbers.
